Violette Pearl Lilac Lacquered Nightstand | Classical French Carved Bedside Table with Lower Shelf - EKAR FURNITURE
Most bedside tables are asked to do two things at once, hold the small things of the bed and look pleasant while doing it, and the Violette Pearl Lilac Lacquered Nightstand by EKAR FURNITURE manages both without trying too hard. It is a classical French bedside table built on a light, open frame rather than a closed cabinet body, with a shaped top edged in a soft moulding, a single drawer set into the upper front, carved floral blocks at the front corners, slender cabriole legs, and a low shaped shelf running between them. The whole piece is finished in a pearl lilac lacquer with a faint silvery sheen, so it reads as pale, cool, and quiet from a distance, and as shaped, carved and hand-finished when you stand close. We build it as a bespoke custom furniture piece in our Foshan furniture factory, in your own choice of lacquer tone.
The upper body is where the design sits. The top is not cut square but shaped at the corners and framed by a moulded edge that follows a gently serpentine line, so the surface carries a soft wave rather than a straight run. Below it, the drawer front is bordered by a raised moulding that dips at the centre and rises toward each side, a single confident line that gives the front its whole character and leaves the face of the drawer clear and smooth. That shaped rail also does a practical job, since it forms a natural lip to catch the hand when opening the drawer, and the drawer itself runs on smooth, fitted runners. The frame around the drawer is built to keep the wave line continuous through the corners, so the piece reads as one shaped element rather than a box with a decorative front fixed to it.
Then there is the lower half, which is what makes the Violette feel like a proper French bedside table rather than a plain stand. Carved floral scroll blocks sit at the two front corners just below the drawer, worked in low relief so they catch light along their edges, and from them the legs fall in a clean cabriole curve, rounded at the knee and tapering to a small shaped foot. The legs are joined near the floor by a shaped shelf that follows the same serpentine outline as the top, and this shelf is the piece's real working surface, the place for a book, a basket, a pair of slippers, or a lamp, keeping the tabletop itself clear. Because the body is open between the drawer and that shelf, the nightstand stays visually light and does not crowd the side of the bed.
The finish is the final and most distinctive note. The lacquer is laid on in thin, hand-rubbed coats in a soft pearl lilac ground, with a slightly deeper plum tone worked along the moulded edges and the line of the drawer rail, so the shape of the piece is drawn out by the finish rather than hidden under it. The sheen is deliberately low and pearly rather than glassy, which keeps the colour gentle and lets it sit with pale and muted palettes instead of competing with them. Every piece is finished and inspected in-house, and as export furniture the lacquer is cured and packed to travel without marking, with the legs and shelf fitted cleanly on site.
In the room, the Violette sits naturally at either side of a bed, holding a lamp and the small things of the bedside, and works just as well as a narrow accent table in a hallway, a dressing area, or a guest room, where its small footprint and open lower shelf keep it useful rather than bulky. The pale lilac ground pairs easily with cream, warm woods, brushed brass, crystal, mirrored surfaces, and soft grey or blush palettes, so the table reads classical without pulling a room into a period look. There is steady demand for this kind of piece in the India import furniture market, where buyers in Mumbai and New Delhi specify hand-carved, custom-finish bedroom furniture for villas, serviced apartments, and boutique hotel rooms. As a high-end furniture customization factory, we adjust the lacquer tone, carving depth, and shelf layout to your project, and our Foshan custom furniture factory builds, checks, and export-packs each piece for delivery worldwide.
